La dimisin de Abu Mazen es una victoria para Sharon.La vida de Arafat en inminente peligro!
La dimisin de Abu Mazen (Mahmud Abbas) es una gran victoria para Ariel Sharon. Desde el principio, Sharon intent derrocar a Abu-Mazen. Era obvio que el presidente Bush haba empezado a simpatizar por este lder palestino, y eso pona en peligro el estatus de exclusividad que disfrutaba Sharon en la Casa Blanca.
Por eso, el objetivo de Sharon fue provocar la eliminacin poltica de Abu- Mazen, que , en cierto modo tambin fue calculada para culpar a Yasser Arafat.
De este modo Sharon esperaba matar dos pjaros de un tiro: preservar su influencia exclusiva sobre Bush y preparar el camino para la eliminacin de Arafat.
La posicin de Abu-Mazen lleg a ser insoportable. No obtena nada de Sharon ni de Bush, excepto la liberacin de un grupo de presos comunes palestinos y el aumento del nmero de trabajadores palestinos en Israel tal y como lo requera la economa israel
Aparte de eso, no se cumpli ni una sola de las concesiones dolorosas prometidas por Sharon. Al contrario: las eliminaciones dirigidas se aceleraron as como la construccin del Muro y la expansin de los asentamientos.Bush no dijo nada salvo bellas palabras. Evidentemente, despus de las fotos en las costas de Mar Rojo, perdi el inters.
Existe el peligro inmediato que Sharon pueda aprovecharse de la nueva situacin para matar a Arafat, bajo pretexto que algo le haya ocurrido durante la operacin de deportarle al extranjero. El jefe de los Servicios de Inteligencia Militares, el general Amos Gilad ha insinuado algo as en la televisin israel.
Gush Shalom hace el llamamiento a todas las fuerzas pacifistas de Israel y el extranjero para hacer todo lo posible para prevenir este complot que puede causar daos imprevisibles a los dos pueblos.

Mientras esto est ocurriendo, se ha anunciado el intento de asesinato del lder de Hamas, Sheikh Yassin por parte de las Fuerzas de Defensa Israeles, que ilustra bien el hecho que Sharon est echando lea al fuego. The resignation of Abu-Mazen (Mahmud Abbas) is a great victory for Ariel Sharon.
From the beginning, Sharon intended to topple Abu-Mazen.
It was obvious that President Bushs has taken a liking to this Palestinian leader,
and this endangered Sharons exclusive status in the White House.
Therefore it was Sharons aim to bring about the political elimination of Abu-Mazen in a way calculated to put the blame on Yasser Arafat.
Thus Sharon hoped to kill two birds with one stone:
safeguard his exclusive influence on Bush and prepare the way for the elimination of Arafat.
Abu-Mazens position has become impossible.
He got nothing at all from Sharon and Bush, except the release of a bunch of Palestinian criminals and an increase of the number of Palestinians workers in Israel - as required by the Israeli economy.
Apart from that, not one of the "painful concessions" promised by Sharon has been delivered. On the contrary:
the "targeted eliminations" have been accelerated, as well as the building of the Wall and the enlargement of the settlement.
President Bush has provuded nothing but nice words.
Apparently, after the photo opportunity on the shores of the Red Sea he has lost interest.
There is an immediate danger that Sharon may exploit the new situation in order to kill Arafat,
under the pretext that something happened to him during an operation to deport him abroad.
The chief of Army Intelligence, General Amos Gilad, has hinted as much on Israeli TV.
Gush Shalom calls all on peace forces in Israel and abroad
to do everything possible to prevent the implementation of this plot,
which may cause untold harm to both peoples.
